Top 25 Software Companies in Bangladesh (2026 Guide)

Table of Contents
Introduction
Bangladesh has more than 4,500 software and IT-enabled service companies and over 300,000 people working in them, according to The Business Standard. This guide narrows that to 25 companies worth shortlisting in 2026: the country's biggest software exporters, such as BJIT, SELISE, Cefalo and Brain Station 23, plus specialists in core banking, telecom, payments, e-government and medical devices. Each profile ends with the kind of project the company is best suited for.
Editor's note: Kaz Software publishes this guide and lists itself first. The order reflects our editorial judgment, informed by the public evidence described below; it is not a scored or independently audited ranking. Figures marked "self-reported", or that a company "reports", come from its own website and have not been independently verified. Last reviewed: October 8, 2026.

How we chose and ordered these 25
We looked for public evidence a buyer can check, weighted in this order:
Export record. Whether BASIS named the company among its top 10 IT/ITES exporters for FY2024-25 (announced at BASIS IT Exporters' Night in January 2026), or The Business Standard listed it among BASIS members' ten largest exporters over the previous five years (December 2022). Process and security certifications such as CMMI, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001, as each company reports them. We did not audit these; the checklist further down shows how to verify them. Years in operation and where the engineering work is done. Depth in a specialty, such as core banking, telecom, payments, e-government or medical devices. Whether you can hire them for a project. Companies that only build their own products sit lower in this buyer's guide. We left out captive R&D centres such as Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh, the semiconductor design firm ULKASEMI, and two top exporters with too little public information to profile (Radiant Data Systems and Data Path). We also left out firms currently debarred by the World Bank, because they cannot win Bank-financed contracts. Kaz Software is first because Kaz publishes this guide. Everything after that is our editorial order.
Bangladesh's software industry in numbers
Measure | Figure | Source |
ICT service exports, FY2024-25 | US$724.6 million, up 7.7% on the year
Software and IT-enabled service companies | More than 4,500
People employed in those companies | More than 300,000
BASIS members that exported in FY2024-25 | About 500 (about 300 export regularly)
Countries BASIS members export to | More than 104
Main export markets | US, Japan, UK, South Korea, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada |
Two caveats. First, the ICT Division's target of US$5 billion in exports by 2025 was missed by a wide margin. Second, the official figure is low: a former BASIS president told The Business Standard the real number could exceed US$1 billion once freelancers, small outsourcing firms and some foreign-partnered companies are counted. BASIS's top 10 IT/ITES exporters for FY2024-25, listed rather than ranked, were BJIT, Brain Station 23, ULKASEMI, SELISE Digital Platforms, Cefalo Bangladesh, Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh, Enosis Solutions, Therap (BD), Radiant Data Systems and Data Path (The Business Standard).

How to check a software company in Bangladesh before you sign
Look up certifications at the source. Ask for the CMMI appraisal details and find them in the CMMI Institute's Published Appraisal Results. Appraisals expire, so check the date as well as the level. For ISO 27001 or ISO 9001, ask for the certificate number and the body that issued it.
Confirm BASIS membership with BASIS.
Read verified reviews on Clutch and GoodFirms, then call two references from projects like yours.
Meet the people who would do the work, not only the sales team. Ask how senior they are and how long they have stayed.
Run a paid pilot of two to four weeks with one defined deliverable, in your own code repository.
If the project is donor-funded, check the World Bank's list of debarred firms.

Which AI feature have you shipped that real people use today?
How do you measure accuracy, and what happens when the AI is wrong?
Where does our data go, which AI model do you use, and is our data used to train it?
Who looks after the model after launch, and what does that cost?
