Top IT Companies in Bangladesh (2026 Guide)

5 min read

Bangladesh has more than 4,500 software and IT-enabled service companies employing over 300,000 people, according to The Business Standard (November 2025). Which of them are "the top" depends on what you measure. Two public lists, both reported by The Business Standard from BASIS data, give an independent starting point: the top 10 IT/ITES exporters for FY2024-25, and the ten largest exporters over the five years before December 2022. This guide puts them side by side, then shows how the sector divides by specialty. If you want 25 profiles for a buying shortlist, go to Top 25 Software Companies in Bangladesh (2026 Guide).

Editor's note: Kaz Software publishes this guide and appears in it. Where we describe a company, the facts come from our Top 25 Software Companies in Bangladesh (2026 Guide), which cites its sources. Figures a company reports about itself are marked "reports" or "self-reported" and have not been independently verified. Last reviewed: October 26, 2026.

The BASIS top 10 IT/ITES exporters, FY2024-25

Five companies appear on both lists: BJIT, Brain Station 23, SELISE, Cefalo and Therap (BD). Enosis Solutions is on the newer list only, and Kaz Software is on the older list only. The lists cover different periods and do not necessarily measure the same thing, so treat the comparison as a guide, not a ranking. Appearing on a list shows export volume. It says little about quality, price or fit for your project.

What export lists miss

  • They measure export revenue, not quality. A company can export a lot and still be a poor fit for a small project, or export little and be the right choice for yours.

  • Domestic specialists are missing. According to The Financial Express (August 2026), 13 Bangladeshi banks run the core banking software of LEADS Corporation, the parent of LeadSoft, yet LeadSoft is on neither list.

  • Official totals are low. ICT service exports were US$724.6 million in FY2024-25, up 7.7% (Export Promotion Bureau, via The Business Standard). A former BASIS president told The Business Standard the real figure could exceed US$1 billion once freelancers, small outsourcing firms and some foreign-partnered companies are counted.

  • Some entries are not what a software buyer is shopping for. Our Top 25 leaves captive R&D centres such as Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh, and the semiconductor design firm ULKASEMI, out of its buyer's guide.

How to choose an IT company in Bangladesh

  • Start with your problem and the type of company you need (product builder, offshore team, platform vendor or specialist), not with a list.

  • Check certifications at the source: look up CMMI appraisals in the CMMI Institute's registry and ask for ISO certificate numbers and the body that issued them.

  • Ask for two references from projects like yours, and read verified reviews on Clutch and GoodFirms.

  • Meet the people who would do the work, not only the sales team.

  • Run a paid pilot of two to four weeks with one defined deliverable.

Frequently asked questions

Which are the top IT companies in Bangladesh?

BASIS's list of top 10 IT/ITES exporters for FY2024-25 is the closest independent list: BJIT, Brain Station 23, ULKASEMI, SELISE Digital Platforms, Cefalo Bangladesh, Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh, Enosis Solutions, Therap (BD), Radiant Data Systems and Data Path. Export volume is one measure, so match a company's specialty to your project.

How many IT companies are there in Bangladesh?

More than 4,500 software and IT-enabled service companies, employing over 300,000 people, according to The Business Standard (November 2025). BASIS says about 500 of its members exported in FY2024-25 and about 300 export regularly.

Is Kaz Software one of the top IT exporters?

Kaz Software was not among the ten exporters BASIS named for FY2024-25. The Business Standard listed it among the ten largest exporters over the five years reported in December 2022.

What is the difference between a software company and an IT company?

In practice the terms overlap. A software company builds or maintains applications. An IT-enabled services (ITES) company uses technology to run business processes such as support or data work. BASIS reports on both together as IT/ITES.
